The Deed Governance Group met on 14 June 2016. The following key matters were discussed below. You can also download the meeting summary report.
- The role of GIA partners in the governance of the biosecurity system and how the DGG could make a significant and important role in system governance in future. DGG commissioned work to better define NZ’s Biosecurity system and the place of GIA within it.
- With the GIA partnership continuing to grow, the DGG has decided to review the governance framework used to oversee GIA and consider options for change. This will include defining the role of the DGG, the possible creation on an ‘executive board’, and the place of sector or pest specific sub-groups.
- GIA representation at a forthcoming Incident Action Planning workshop to be held in Wellington in June; and a workshop on Plant Biosecurity RD&E Priorities to be held in Melbourne in July.
- The review of the GIA Deed.
