First signing of GIA Deed

Yesterday, KVH and MPI became the first signatories to the Deed for the Government Industry Agreement for Biosecurity Readiness and Response.
Yesterday, Kiwifruit Vine Health and the Ministry for Primary Industries became the first signatories to the Deed for the Government Industry Agreement for Biosecurity Readiness and Response.This milestone sees the commencement of the GIA partnership, giving KVH, on behalf of the kiwifruit sector, a formal role alongside MPI in making decisions about biosecurity risks that affect their industry.

The GIA’s Interim Governance Body will now transition to the Transitional Deed Governance Group (TDGG), as outlined in the interim policy Transition of Deed Governance Arrangements. Each Deed Signatory will have a representative on the TDGG, and Lindsay Burton and Peter Silcock will assume advisory roles until such time as the Deed Governance Group is formally constituted.
